Shawn is a businessman and entrepreneur who can take a vision and make it reality through sound strategy development. With over 22 years in the Canadian oil and gas industry, Shawn has held many roles throughout his career which include: Technical Services Manager, Business Development Manager, Director of Sales and Business Development and Vice President, Canadian Operations and successfully ran his own consulting business. He intuitively sees the threads of opportunity and drives material business advantage. He leads mainly by example, always doing his best and encouraging others to do the same.
Currently Shawn is spearheading major strategic shifts for transforming Spent Waste into consumable products advocating a circular economy. GroundUP Eco-Ventures is an agri-food startup that utilizes leading edge cleantech to eliminate waste streams from the coffee and craft brewery industries.
Previously, as Vice President of Canadian Operations, Shawn led business development for the Canadian division of NCS Multistage Inc. During this time, he drove the annual Canadian business from $8MM in 2012 to $170MM in 2017. Successfully grew the business to 25% overall market share and drove the financial performance of the Canadian business unit, including top-line revenue, SG&A, budget creation and P&L. As a member of the Research and Development prioritization team, Shawn led technical development of downhole completion technology and holds one patent.
Shawn holds an MBA from the Royal Roads University and a Petroleum Technologist Diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Alberta.
