Cat’s Track #54 – Heather Christe-Burns
Welcome to Cat’s Track Episode 54, with guest Heather Christe-Burns.
Heather is a native Calgarian, with 25 years as an engineer, entrepreneur, and leader in the energy industry in Alberta. She is a member of the Board of Governors at the University of Calgary, an independent director at Interface Fluidics, a venture capital funded Alberta technology start-up, and a mentor with Zone Startups Calgary, focused on scaling industrial technology businesses in multiple sectors.
Heather’s skills include strategic planning, business financing and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and operations management. She is passionate about collaborations within the energy business, connecting people and solving challenges with technology and innovation, and bridging industries.
Heather’s most recent role was founder, President and CEO of High Ground Energy Inc., a private company, which was sold in July 2019. Prior to this role, she co-founded and was President and Chief Operating Officer of Angle Energy Inc., an Alberta-based exploration and producing company which went public via IPO in 2008 and was sold in 2013.
She has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
A fun fact about Heather is that she has made the trip from Calgary to Sturgis, South Dakota twice. No trailers were involved, and yes, she rides her own motorcycle.
